For this calm, peaceful and harmonic work I needed a text that would pass on these feelings. The liturgical text “Libera me” fits perfectly into what I was looking for.

For this work, instead of having an elaborated counterpoint, I wanted to have a more harmonic piece, where the long harmonies carry the words.

Libera me was premiered by the acclaimed french choir Maitrise de Garçons de Colmar in their series of concerts in Lisbon. This is the concert live recording.

Written for mixed choir, soprano, and alto solo.
