On one of my trips to Rio de Janeiro, I had the pleasure to go into the famous Carnival parade, a spectacular show of rhythm, color, and positive energy!

I thought it would be fun to write a piece where I could mix a full orchestra (in this case, I used a large one!) with the percussion ensemble normally used in the samba schools (called “Bateria”).

With this work, I tried to pass on the amazing experience I lived during those days spent in this wonderful city.
